Step into the warmth of a traditional Bohra meal, where food is not just served but shared. Home chef Tahera brings the beautiful Dawoodi Bohra custom of the thaal to the table — a single grand platter around which guests gather to enjoy a meal together, course by course.
At this experience, guests sit around a shared thaal, moving through the meal together rather than being served individually. The structure is unlike most meals — you begin with mithaas, a sweet dish, before moving into kharaas, the savoury courses. The flavours often alternate between sweet and savoury, creating a rhythm that keeps the palate engaged and builds anticipation before the main courses arrive.
