There was a time when the full moon was reason enough to gather.

Nila Soru is a disappearing tradition. The simple, social ritual of eating together outdoors under the moon, where the meal was as much about community, storytelling, conversation, and belonging as it was about the food. Food meant to be shared, passed around, and eaten together beneath the night sky.

For this edition of Tamil Quarter, Chef Goku brings the terrace alive with a communal feast inspired by village kitchens and the forgotten flavours of a time when the moon set the table.

This is an exploration of a food culture that is slowly disappearing. A reminder that people once gathered not just to eat, but to belong. To tell stories. To sit beneath the moon and let the night stretch long.
